✌️ Ready to trust yourself? (now with corrected links)

Hi Reader,

I've been quiet in your inbox lately—not because I didn't have anything to say, but because I was getting crystal clear on exactly who I'm here to serve.

A few weeks ago, I was back at my alma mater for reunion weekend, leading a workshop on "Claiming Self-Authority and Giving Yourself Permission" for fellow Tufts alums.

Standing in front of that room of brilliant professionals—accomplished women who had never met before but shared this common struggle—what struck me wasn't just their intelligence. It was how many of these accomplished people were second-guessing decisions they were more than qualified to make.

That workshop crystallized something I've been seeing in my coaching practice for years, especially with the analytical women I work with in tech, STEM, and environmental fields.

Here's what I now know for certain: You don't need more data to make better decisions. You need to stop second-guessing and start trusting who you already are.

My focus has sharpened: I help analytical women in tech, STEM, and environmental fields move through transitions and leadership challenges with clear, confident decisions.

Now, about this whole "summer career work" thing...

I get it. Your brain says "Summer = vacation mode. Career stuff = fall." And if you're a parent? Add "kids are home from school and I actually want to spend time with them" to that internal dialogue. Especially if they're getting closer to leaving home—these summers feel precious and finite.

But here's what your analytical mind might be missing:

Summer is actually decision season.

While everyone else is waiting for September to "get serious," you have a rare advantage:

  • Fewer competing priorities mean your brilliant brain can actually process without constant interruption
  • Perspective shift happens naturally—vacation, slower pace, different routines all create space for clarity
  • Fall opportunities are being planned right now by companies coming out of summer with fresh budgets and open roles

The women I work with aren't waiting for perfect timing—because with kids, there never is perfect timing. They're using this season to:

  • Stop overthinking that promotion conversation and have it (even if it means scheduling around camp pickup)
  • Trust their expertise enough to pivot into leadership roles (while modeling decision-making for their kids)
  • Make the transition they've been analyzing for months (because September will be here with back-to-school chaos whether they're ready or not)

What decision have you been overthinking? That role change? The difficult conversation with your manager? The pivot you keep researching but not pursuing?

Your analytical strengths got you where you are. Now let's use them to get you where you're going—without the endless second-guessing.

I have a few coaching spots opening in July for women ready to move from analysis to action. If you're tired of having the same internal debates and ready to trust your expertise, let's talk.

Hit reply and tell me: What's one decision you've been overthinking? I read every response.

Here's to trusting what you already know,
Becky

P.S. Seeing those women connect at Tufts over shared struggles gave me an idea. I'm hosting a FREE round table discussion on July 16th for analytical women in tech, STEM, and environmental fields who are ready to stop second-guessing and start speaking up. Come connect with others facing similar challenges, ask questions, and discover you're not alone in this. Interested? Hit reply and I'll send details.

Hello Reader, As we close out 2025, a year that asked a lot from all of us, I keep coming back to something Cheryl Strayed said on Adam Grant’s WorkLife podcast five years ago. It has quietly shaped how I run my business, make decisions, and navigate the hard days. The Truest Thing (and Why We Need It Now) Cheryl Strayed—author of Wild and the Dear Sugar column—talked about the difference between the true thing and the truer thing. The true thing is often the fear. The doubt. The swirl of “I’m...

Hi Reader, Tomorrow’s the day!Trust Yourself Table Talk goes live Wednesday at 4:00 pm PT / 7:00 pm ET, and I wanted to pop in with a little pre-event pep talk. I asked a few clients how they used to answer: “So… tell me about yourself.” Here were some of the replies: 👉 “I grew up in Ohio and I really love cheese.” 👉 “Um… well… I have a cat named Olive – does that count?” 👉 “Honestly? I panic and start listing every job I’ve ever had since 1998.” We’ve all done it — blurted out random facts,...
